Our mission is to give students, amateurs and professional filmmakers a chance to hone their craft over a weekend in a festival-like atmosphere.

Our name tells it all, you choose 50% of your team’s genre at registration. The next stage is on us. At kick-off you’ll receive the other 50% of your genre randomly chosen from all the possible genre types. We’ll also give you a character and color at kick-off to keep all the teams on a level playing field.

This launches you into 50 hours of preproduction, that’s writing, casting and locking down locations. Unlike other competitions, this is a great chance to catch up on sleep. Come back midway to touch base, hand in that exciting paperwork and initiate the final 50 hours of your movie, the production and post stages. This is the part where you shoot, compose, and edit your film.

Which brings us back to the last 50, and the most fun part, winning 50% of the net box office ticket sales.  What can we say, we may be 50% crazy, but we are 100% dedicated to filmmakers.
